About Shree Dwarkadhish

After freeing and defeating the evil and unruly king of Mathura, Kansa ( also his mama), Krishna was never allowed to settle in peace. King Jarasandh ( brother in law of Kansa ) invaded vrajmandal Mathura now and then with his large armies in the hope of defeating Krishna one day. Due to this continuous attack by king Jarasandh on Mathura, the people of Mathura always lived in fear and trouble.

On realising that the people of Mathura were suffering due to his presence, Shree Krishna moved his base to the tip of Saurashtra, Dwarka. Here he settled and created a kingdom that was known as “Sona ni Dwarka ( kingdom of gold)” and governed it with love and righteousness.

As King from Dwarka, Shree Krishna was known as “Dwarkadhish”. It is a known fact that Shree Dwarkadhishji’s two bhujas( Arms ) were as strong as chaar(four) Bhujas in combact and warefare. Also its known that come people called him sahastra bhujadhari( King with 1000 arms holding 1000 weapons).

But the king of Dwarka, Dwarkadhishji, was most famously known as chaar bhuja dhari( King with 4 arms holding Shank, Chakra, Gada and Padma). Dwarkadhsihji in his left bottom hand held the “Paanchajanya Shankh” , in his left top arm holds the “ Sudarshan Chakra” , in his top right arm he holds “Kaumudiki Gada” and in his right bottom arm he holds the “Padmaraj”.
